Found their “Roll Away” album on Rhapsody – am impressed.
This is the site’s write up on the band
“”Despite what your ears may suggest, the members of Back Door Slam have just recently graduated from their teens. Echoing Rory Gallagher and Stevie Ray Vaughn, this blues trio proudly hails from the Isle of Man, a small rock in the Irish Sea also home to the Bee Gees. A breakout performance at the 2007 Austin City Limits helped them garner opening slots for the Who, Eric Burdon and Don McLean. Pulling their name from a Robert Cray track, it’s clear Back Door Slam is well-versed in the history of blues while forging a path of their own. “”
Awesome. Just downloaded their CD from Itunes. Thanks so much for bringing them to our attention…..I’m from Ohio and they’re going to be in Columbus 4/26. Maybe I’ll have to brave the teeny boppers and go to hear them.

love the tight sound – how is it that a trio can sound better than a huge band sometimes? nice.
