On January 12, 2012, The Jamie McLean Band recorded a live CD and DVD at the Gibson Guitar Studios in NYC. Special guests included Taylor Hicks and Jason Crosby. In these historic studios, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” album was recorded, and artists like Bruce Springsteen and Lenny Kravitz have recorded here. The Jamie McLean Band consists of Jamie McLean (guitar, vocals), Ben Mars (bass) and Brian Griffin (drums). Jason Crosby sat in on several songs on the piano, keyboards and fiddle. What a treat for the Soul Patrol when Taylor Hicks sat in with harp and vocals on two songs: Jamie’s “Country Living” and the Allman’s “Midnight Rider”.
Jamie McLean entertained us with wonderful music, tours of the historic studio and showrooms and an open bar. Taylor Hicks’ vocals and harp playing thrilled all of us who were lucky to be there. Jamie indicated that the CD and DVD would be available very soon. We look forward to its debut!

Wonderful photos and recap, diane! I’m looking forward to the CD’s release. I have Jamie McLean Band’s most recent album, Sunday Morning, that includes “Country Living”. Great song! It’ll be fun to hear the changes made in the live setting.
Thanks again!
Thank you for the photos, Diane. It’s always exciting to receive pictures in real time. We’re spoiled, aren’t we? But in a good way. I am really looking forward to this release! And you were in the same studio that Thriller was recorded in?!! I’m so jealous!
Thanks ontapblog! We will all be anxious to hear the finished product that was recorded Thursday night!
Chill, we are really looking forward to the release also! We were told that Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run” and “Graceland” were tracked here. Not the Thriller video, of course.
So very cool! Thanks so much, Diane, for taking us along when we never would have gotten a peek at the process otherwise!
