Madeleine Peyroux.

Madeleine Peyroux sounds like a woman you might have heard singing in the back of a smoky, elite Jazz club back in the 1940’s. With her rich and often low- yet undeniably sweet and feminine voice, Peyroux has been compared to such Jazz vocal greats as Billie Holiday and Etta James, and those who listen can hear why. Her second major release, Careless Love, is a fantastic album to listen to on sleepy Sunday afternoons spent lounging around while a sweet, gentle breeze blows through open windows.

  1. GC- I did know. She was a busker! I think it is such a romantic and interesting story. I bet she has some amazing stories to tell.

speaking of, I think the picture above was taken on one of the streets she busked on. So it has been told.

Do you know the story of Madeleine’s dissappearance after the release of her first recording? She basically dropped out for six years, moved to Paris and sang on the streets.

    Wow. Instant love!
