I recently received an e-mail by a Old Bo Fan from thebounderground.com
stating that Bo Bice needs our help.
Clive Davis and the execs at RCA records have a preference towards Bo performing and recording other people’s songs. As many of you know, Bo, like Taylor, is a talented songwriter on top of being a musician, and he, as well as his fans, would like to have more of his own, original music on his next CD.
A way to help:
Over the weekend Bo asked his fans in chat at bobice.com to create and sign an online petition requesting that his next CD contain more Bo Bice originals.
The petition says:
” To: Mr. Clive Davis of RCA records
Bo Bice’s first CD was made up of songs almost exclusively written by
other artists and songwriters. When the CD was released, many of Bo’s fans
found they preferred his original songs, and would like RCA to support his
aspiration to become an original recording artist.
We, the undersigned, want Bo Bice’s original music to make up the majority
of songs on his next CD.
Bo saw the petition and came back into chat today with a statement of approval, saying simply: “That Rocks”.
I am usually not a fan of online petitions, but I will be signing this one and I encourage others to do the same.
You might be wondering if and/or how this relates to Taylor Hicks.
As Old Bo Fan put it in the e-mail he sent:
“The issue of what happens to unique artists like Bo in RCA’s hands is worrisome to those of us who are now wondering exactly how Taylor is going to be dealt with on his first CD. I am hopeful that all have learned from the experience of Bo’s first CD, and we won’t see a repeat of something like that with Taylor.”
Help original artists now, and you are also helping to pave way for other original artists in the future.
Please consider taking a moment to sign the petition linked below.
