I saw Buddy Guy in concert at the Pier in Seattle in ’02. It as an absolutely amazing show. Buddy is very personable and really plays to the audience. He utilized a wireless system so he could come off the stage and walk the crowd during the performance.

A local radio station gave away a hand printed limited edition (3000) poster which reads “Blues Legend, Sweet Tea, Buddy Guy, Songs from the Mississippi Delta, The Chicago Head Cutter” with some nice graphics and autographed very boldly at the concert by Buddy.

We were lucky that day, it’s hanging in my music room.

In the early 90’s I had the opportunity to attend the Monterey Jazz Festival a couple of times. At the time, I didn’t know who many of the artists were. Buddy Guy was one of the artists who really stood out although I’d never heard of him before. The guy was amazing! He owned the place! At one point, he left the stage and jumped up on a wall separating the ground level seats from the higher level seats. He walked on that narrow wall, never missing a beat, wailing on that guitar! He’s quite the performer and anyone who gets the chance should go to see him live.
