I’ve seen Angie Aparo live 4 times. Lyricly, he is one of the best out there and when he sings “live”, people listen. He has a deep soulful sound and no one I’ve ever seen can compare to his voice, specificly when he sings “Wonderland”. I actually saw him sing and Don Mclean was on the same stage and even he was very impressed.
People say the darndest things.
Curious, has anyone seen Aparo live? In the clips of him on his site, he sounds more Taylor-friendly live than produced. There’s a bit of a discussion going about him on the board, with links to his site (under Taylor Hick’s Music / New Collaborator for Tay.)

Angie Aparo is a local Atlanta/Athens musician and yes, he does play a mean harmonica! I wouldn’t be suprised if their paths have crossed before, or at least 1 or 2 degrees of seperation.
I can’t wait to see/hear what Taylor has in store for us. Angie Aparo was a new name to me (duh!) I add once again a new name to my music knowledge.
I wonder when his first single comes out. Second, I mean.
I think it’s great that Aparo is excited about this venture with Taylor. I guess he has no AI prejudice, or else,maybe he’s familiar with Taylor’s original songs! Maybe if songwriters are excited about working with Taylor, he won’t be able to keep as many surprises as he thinks

Knowing how he likes to “polish his craft”, how excited must Taylor be to co-write with veterans he could never have accessed before. He’ll soak it all up like a sponge and come out of the experience with even more songwriting skills than he has now. I’m so happy for the guy.
as if we needed another reason to be eagerly anticipating Taylor’s “first” CD…it gets more interesting everyday. quite the opposite of what I had feared might happen. yea!
I’m assuming that’s the same Angie Aparo who wrote “Cry”. A song Mandisa sang during the show.

I just found this article, about a musician named Angie Aparo (male), who “got a call to LA to help write music for Taylor Hicks”. I don’t know him, but his song “Cry” was covered by Faith Hill, who had a monster hit with it, and he sounds interesting:

It’s interesting that Aparo would say that, because there don’t seem to be many patterns to his own music. The only constant seems to be the praise he receives for the honest depth of his lyrics, his inspiring arrangements and his commitment to making music for its own sake.

Nice to hear he’s still loving the road and he seems certain the album will not be out in November – interesting! I really wonder what he does have up his sleeve!
