View of theatre

Although the North Fork began as a tent (according to AOL city guide), it now is a theatre in the round, complete with rotating stage. Brings whole new meaning to the term “Taylor-go-round”. Wouldn’t you love to be at this sound check? Of course, maybe they don’t do the whole spinning stage thing for every show – recaps should be interesting.

In the meantime, a little geographical reading:
More than you probably want to know about Westbury, NY

….and a recipe for Long Island Iced Tea
1 part vodka
1 part tequila
1 part rum
1 part gin
1 part triple sec
1 1/2 parts sweet and sour mix
1 splash Coca-Cola®

Mix ingredients together over ice in a glass. Pour into a shaker and give one brisk shake. Pour back into the glass and make sure there is a touch of fizz at the top. Garnish with lemon. (serve in a Collins glass)

The other thing that stood out was the audience was about 40% MALE. Woo Hoo!

  2. OSB says:

Another fabulous show by Mr. Hicks on the cellcert – lots of new tags, a new song, and new renditions of almost everything else – a very, very soulful evening.

What would I do without the Boogie board????
    Simply, thank you everyone 🙂

  4. EJ says:

The stage was used as a half-round. The only result was people on the extreme side kinda got screwed, even though he tried to sing in that direction too. It was hard with all the equipment jammed up there. Theater is cool, seats rise like an amphitheater so perfect viewing. And we got to really dance in the aisles for a couple of songs before they realized and stopped us. It started out a bit reserved, but ended very well, with great crowd reaction and Taylor doing a lot of playing and tagging. Never heard him sorta scat in the Right Place before.

This one should be interesting tonight. A NY crowd and a circling stage? Also a pretty big crowd — over 2700 and sold out. Cool.

The cell cert thread has opened…

  6. AmyH says:

A lot of times, people drop in the play-by-play thread and leave their recaps there. Sometimes in the “Questions Post-whatever show” thread.

I wonder about that spinning stage. There was one in Austin that DID turn during the show. The band better watch the iced tea consumption if they are going to be turning.

Mmm … I love iced tea.

Recaps tend to appear in all sorts of places around here. Here’s one from last night’s concert:

Are there any recaps for the last few concerts. I’m lost looking for them — thought they’d be in the recaps thread but not finding anything.
